Conference preview: Get to know TechKnow.

As new non-profit conferences go, AFP’s TechKnow looks to be turning into a good one. At DonorDrive, we’ve been monitoring this one closely all year as the schedule has unfolded. Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder of Apple was recently landed as a speaker.

It’ll be fascinating to hear Woz’s eyebrow-raising take about the future of fundraising, with his background in both tech and philanthropy. But what attendees are really coming for are the targeted sessions and workshops. This conference differs from NTen in that it has a narrower scope: it’s tech that’s specifically aimed at fundraising. For its first year, this is turning into a conference packed with on-target workshops and opportunities to network with peers in fundraising.

Get social with your fundraising.

As you might expect, social media sessions dominate with some insightful topics. Laura Howe of the American Red Cross is one of the speakers and will share the ins and out of their effective use of Twitter. Social media topics include:

Technology for giving.

There are some good tech topics on the agenda that fit the “Rewire to Inspire” theme well. These include:

TechKnow is happening June 4 and 5, 2102 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando. So far over 600 attendees have confirmed, which makes for impressive some numbers in a conference’s first year.
